Dourthe La Grande Cuvée Bordeaux Sauvignon Blanc 2011, France (£7.99 Waitrose)
Fresh, herby style, flavours of tinned pear and citrus, with a slightly musky overtone, decent, crisp seafood-friendly style, finishes just a touch sour. B-
Domaine Raimbault Sancerre 2011, Loire, France (£12.99 The Co-op)
Crunchy, grassy style, with an earthy gunflint note to add interest to the sappy, slightly vegetal citrus flavours. Decent enough, but (again) a slightly tart finish. B
La Casa de Sitios de Bodega Sauvignon Blanc 2011, Rueda, Spain (£6.49 The Co-op)
Quite plump and juicy style, with a fleshy peachy richness to the tinned pear flavours, lots of sweet fruit but finishes dry. B+
Torres Fransola Sauvignon Blanc 2010, Penedès, Spain (£18.49 Amps Fine Wines, Constantine Stores, Houlton Wines, Mitchell’s Vintners, Yorkshire Vintners, Vintage Marque)
I like the tangy greengage, citrus, elderflower and tinned pear flavours, the touch of gunflint and the honeyed richness, but I don’t think it gains anything apart from a smoky character from the oak ageing. B(+)
