The Exquisite Collection Côtes de Provence Rosé 2012, France (£5.99 Aldi)
Gentle red berry and wrinkled apple, with a touch of peach. OK flavour, but would like a little more wine in my glass. C(+)
Barone Ricasoli Albia Toscana Rosé 2011, Italy (£11.99 Yorkshire Vintners, vintagemarque.com)
Quite a rounded, rich style with soft peach melba flavours (red berry and vanilla), a touch of tannin and a juicy finish. B(+)
Vidal Fleury Côtes du Rhône Rosé 2012, France (£12-£13 Amazon.co.uk, Waples Wines, La Zouch, Hailsham Cellars)
There’s almost a sandy, spicy note mixed in with the tangy citrus, apple and raspberry flavours, good refreshing style. B(+)
Guigal Côtes du Rhône Rosé 2011, France (£10.99-£11.99 Amps Fine Wine, East Coast Wines, Sandhams Wine Merchant, Taste Fine Wines, Vintage Marque)
Gutsy for rosé, with almost peachy cherry and red berry flavours and a hint of vanilla. Soft but still finishes fresh, tasty wine. S-
Yali Wetland Merlot Rosé 2012, Colchagua, Chile (£7.49 Majestic)
Seemed a bit simple to start with but blossomed to show gentle summer pudding and apple (fresh and cooked) fruit, simple but attractive just-off-dry style. C+
Torres Santa Digna Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé Reserva 2012, Valle Central, Chile (£8.49 Soho Wines, Dorset Wine Co, Wines of Interest, Tanners, Peter Graham Wines)
I like the blackcurrant, blackberry and cherry flavours, and the spicy overtone, but there’s just a touch of the medicinal in here that stops me liking it even more. B-
