Two lovely Rieslings from opposite sides of the world

Another of the catch-up-on-tasting-notes posts (see intro HERE if that doesn’t make sense)

Trimbach-001Trimbach Riesling 2012, Alsace, France (£10.95 The Wine Society)
On the sleek rather than showy style of Alsace Riesling, but amid the mineral freshness and taut grapefruit flavours, there’s a touch of the exotic, with some spice (ginger), a light whiff of petrol and just a hint of peach. S(-)

Craggy RR-001Craggy Range Te Muna Road Riesling 2013, Martinborough, New Zealand (£20.49 The New Zealand Cellar)
Vibrant young wine with a very promising future, lovely floral aromas with a touch of spice, and while there’s a touch of sugar here, the tangy green apple and lime flavours conceal it well. S(+)
