Bit of an oddball this one, you think it’s going to be sweet but it isn’t…

Pullus G Traminec 2009, Stajerska, Slovenia (£17.95 Winety)
Big, oily style, smells like late-harvested grapes, with plump peach and lychee flesh pepped up with exotic rose petal and ginger, with some barley sugar thrown in for good measure. Rich and burly but finishes dry, just let down by a slight resinny bitterness. Not sure what I’d do with it, but it has plenty to say for itself. S-
